Module 2: Clinical Mentoring - HIT to improve care processes

 

Target audience:

Healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses, and pharmacists), care logisticians (e.g., case managers), hospital administrators and decision makers.

General objectives:

• Gain familiarity with the current knowledge on recognized deficiencies in the production of healthcare.

• Understand the potential role of hospital information systems and clinical information systems to improve the safety, quality, efficiency and continuity of care.

• Explore the possibilities of the clinical pathways as a well-accepted methodology to formalize and optimize care processes.

• Identify key challenges, both technical and organizational, for the implementation and productive deployment of such tools.

• Apply these concepts and tools to a real-world scenario.
